Welcome To Willow Park First Year

Set in 65 acres of beautiful parkland Willow Park First Year is a thriving community. It provides the surroundings and facilities to make a wonderful educational experience for our pupils.  The transfer from Primary to Secondary education can be a challenging process for many boys. Willow Park First Year provides pupils with a unique opportunity to adapt to new subjects and multiple teachers in an environment which is fully focused on the particular needs of this age group. A Principal, Deputy Principal, Tutors and specialist first year teachers contribute to a unique milieu in Irish Education.

This expertise developed over generations enables our highly committed and enthusiastic staff to address the specific needs and develop appropriate strategies to foster positive adolescent learning. This provides a strong foundation for the boys’ ongoing development in Blackrock College.

Cor Unum et Anima Una

Willow Park is a catholic school and was founded in 1935 by the Spiritan Fathers. Our ethos is embedded in the charisms of the Spiritan order and central to our mission is the Spiritual, Academic, Cultural, Social, and Physical, development of the boys. We develop and cherish a strong sense of community, where pupils parents and teachers feel valued. We recognise that each of us has a role to play in our school and a service to offer in the wider community. Everything we do at Willow Park is guided by the Spiritan motto; “Cor Una et Anima Una” (one heart, one mind).

“Being the best that we can be”

At Willow we challenge ourselves to “be the best that we can be” and strive for excellence in all areas and aspects of school life whilst maintaining our commitment to the Spiritan Ethos.

I encourage you to use our website as an access point to our school community. View the wide range of subjects and activities offered and stay up to-date with school news on our VLE (Moodle), our blog and on twitter.

Kind Regards,

Alan Rogan
